Hey, welcome to part 2 of my list of 150 great Canadian comedy moments and people!

Just another reminder, this list is not ranked. Everyone and everything mentioned here is worth celebrating as are a lot of people and moments not listed.

When it comes to comedy, Canada has an embarrassment of riches. Fact.

This list features some Canadian comedy classics, people who’ve helped build up the scene in Canada and some straight-up legends:

Dan Guterman is one of comedy’s most important and accomplished voices having written for The Onion, The Colbert Report, Community and now Rick & Morty. He’s also originally from Montreal, he’s one of us.

Barry Julien is another Montrealer and he’s also the Executive Producer of The Late Show w/ Stephen Colbert. And a multiple Emmy winner. C’mon.

Bruce Hills is the head of Just for Laughs, the festival has grown so much under his watch.

Heather Wallace has been a champion for comedy on the west coast for many years and currently produces JFL Northwest.

Samantha Bee and Norm Macdonald are possibly the two funniest human beings alive.

All those awesome Netflix stand-up specials you love? Canada’s own Robbie Praw is the person in charge of those.

Mark Breslin founded Yuk Yuk’s and changed stand-up comedy in Canada, Andrew Alexander did the same for sketch comics with Second City.

Rosie Shuster is a second-generation Canadian comedian and one of the original writers of Saturday Night Live.

Irwin Barker was a brilliant stand-up who left us far too soon.

Katherine Ryan is taking the world by storm.

Sarah Fowlie is the guiding voice behind the Comedy Network and they’ve been cranking out a ton of fantastic Canadian content.

Then there’s us, SiriusXM’s Canada Laughs. We’re the first all-Canadian 24/7 comedy channel on satellite radio and we’re all about celebrating and elevating Canadian comedy.
