SiriusXM Remembers Country Music Hall of Fame Star Charlie Daniels, Dead At 83
SiriusXM is paying tribute to the life and music of country icon Charlie Daniels, who died of a hemorrhagic stroke this morning (Monday, July 6) in Hermitage, Tennessee. Join us as we honour Daniels’ immense contribution to the musical landscape with specials on SiriusXM’s Outlaw Country, VOLUME, and more.
Throughout the course of his multi-platinum career, Daniels’ passion for music was felt across genres, resulting in Dove Awards for his gospel albums, CMA Award-winning country hits, collaborations with Bob Dylan, and much more. He created countless memorable songs with the Charlie Daniels Band, including his signature hit “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” (which even inspired a 1993 sequel, “The Devil Comes Back to Georgia”). The singer-songwriter received numerous accolades, including his induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Musicians Hall of Fame, and the Grand Ole Opry society.
Listen to remembrances of the late country icon, including on-air tributes today, July 6th on Outlaw Country (Ch. 60) at 8 pm ET and on VOLUME (Ch. 106) at 5 pm ET. Plus, watch a cover performance of Bob Dylan’s “Tangled Up In Blue” below.
