Colman Domingo recalls ‘auditioning eight times a week,’ talks fashion and new movie
Award-winning actor Colman Domingo reflected on how he changed his team after “auditioning eight times a week” in a new interview with Bevy Smith on her show, “Bevelations,” on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy (Ch. 102).
“I think I had established such a body of work, and I know I did. And I had to trust it myself,” the “Sing Sing” star said. “I’m like, ‘The work is out there. If you want to meet with me to talk about it, I’m the guy.’ This is after putting in 20-something, 25 years.”

Additionally, during his appearance, the 54-year-old actor talked about starring in the acclaimed new movie “Sing Sing” and looked back at his breakout role in the hit series “Fear the Walking Dead.” “Sing Sing,” directed by Greg Kwedar, is based on the real-life Rehabilitation Through the Arts program at Sing Sing Maximum Security Prison in New York and follows inmates involved in the creation of theatrical stage shows.
Colman also wore cream-coloured YSL loafers and discussed his awards season style and how he uses fashion to tell stories.
“People put on clothes or they want to slay and do a moment,” Colman said. “But I was trying to build towards certain arcs of moments, even with the ‘Sing Sing’ rollout. I’ve been very intentional with the way I dress for this.”
