Deep Tracks’ uncovers Flowers in the Dirt from Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney

By the end of the 1980s, Paul McCartney needed something special. It’s not that he hadn’t been around, or even had some hit singles. But his records weren’t receiving the sort of critical acclaim that one of the masterminds behind The Beatles was used to. Macca needed to find his muse again.

It came in the form of Elvis Costello.

McCartney and Costello teamed up and wrote a series of excellent songs, some of which would appear on Elvis’ Spike, while McCartney’s 1989 album Flowers in the Dirt would feature others, including his last notable hit single, My Brave Face.

This week on SiriusXM Deep Tracks, hear Paul McCartney talk about the recently remastered Flowers in the Dirt album – complete with previously unreleased songs and demos. Featuring commentary from Elvis Costello, Nick Mason and David Gilmour.
