It’s the 2025 NHL Fearless Playoff Predictions – Round One

It’s time again for the most wonderful time of the year. The Stanley Cup Playoffs. 16 teams left in the standings. In two weeks, half of those teams will be gone…and so on…and so on…
And here we go, yet again, with the World Famous SiriusXM NHL Network Radio Stanley Cup Playoff Prediction Pool. This is the 19th year we’ve gone for silver. There have been 13 different winners over those years. Shane Malloy is the defending champion.
Remember to listen to all the action on SiriusXM NHL Network Radio and on the SiriusXM app.
Does anybody really know for sure who’s going to hoist the big mug in late June? Are you brave (foolish) enough to put your money where your mouth is? We’re not…so we’ll just keep our predictions to this pool.
Remember, this is all for fun. So many of the opening round series are coin flips.
The league-leading Winnipeg Jets take on the resurgent St. Louis Blues. It’s the Welcome Back Miko Rantanen Bowl as the Dallas Stars battle with the Colorado Avalanche. The Vegas Golden Knights face the Minnesota Wild, and once again (for the fourth time in a row), the Los Angeles Kings take on the Edmonton Oilers…except this time it’s the Kings with home ice advantage.
In the East, the ageless wonder Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals have a showdown with the Montreal Canadiens (the final team to qualify for the playoffs this season). The Carolina Hurricanes and New Jersey Devils face off against each other. For the first time in over two decades, it’s the Battle of Ontario, as the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators renew post-season hostilities, and it’s the Battle of the Sunshine State, as the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning slug it out.
What’s not to like???
