NHL Games of the Week: Saturday, March 13th – Friday, March 19th
Saturday, March 13th – New York Rangers at Boston Bruins
1 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
While they’ve recently cooled off to a degree, still figure on the Boston Bruins making the playoff cut in the tough East Division. While most didn’t figure on the same fate for the Rangers, they expected New York to be more competitive than they have been to this point.
Sunday, March 14th – Arizona Coyotes at Minnesota Wild
2 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
Two of the six teams battling it out for one of the four post-season invites in the West Division go at it tonight in the State of Hockey. The Wild were expected to be better this campaign, and have so far lived up to those expectations. It’s the Coyotes that have surprised many with their solid play.
Monday, March 15th – San Jose Sharks at Vegas Golden Knights
10 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
Will the West Division crown go to the Golden Knights? Halfway through the season, they look to have the best shot at the title. The same cannot be said for the Sharks, who haven’t been terrible, but need more consistency if they want to get back into the playoff picture.
Tuesday, March 16th – Boston Bruins at Pittsburgh Penguins
7 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
While the Bruins look to regain their high level of play they enjoyed for the first few weeks of this season, the Penguins have played better hockey recently, getting their act together in time to take a serious run at a playoff spot in the traffic jam known as the East Division.
Wednesday, March 17th – Edmonton Oilers at Calgary Flames
10 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
The Battle of Alberta so far may not have been the donnybrook many of us were anticipating, but these two teams will still play some good hockey when they meet up on a sheet of ice. The Flames have a new head coach in Darryl Sutter, who guided Calgary to the Stanley Cup Final back in 2004.
Thursday, March 18th – Philadelphia Flyers at New York Islanders
7 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
Once again, the Islanders are a well-oiled machine, and tonight face a Flyers team that many observers believe will be in a battle, down to the wire, for one of the final East Division playoff slots.
Friday, March 19th – Vancouver Canucks at Montreal Canadiens
7 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
For the most part this season, the Canadiens (in particular forward Tyler Toffoli) have feasted on the Canucks. Vancouver are running out of time to climb back into the playoff race in the North Division.
