Remember the life & legacy of Jay Briscoe, Ring of Honor Wrestling Champion
On this morning’s edition of Busted Open on SiriusXM Fight Nation (Ch. 156), the hosts honoured the life and career of professional wrestling star Jay Briscoe (real name Jamin Pugh), who passed away at 38 in a fatal car accident on January 17.
Tony Khan, CEO of All Elite Wrestling and owner of ROH, announced the news on Twitter, writing: “Sadly, Jamin Pugh has passed away. Known to fans as Jay Briscoe, he was a star in ROH for over 20 years, from the first show until today.
“Jay and his brother Mark dominated ROH, reigning as champions to this day.
“We’ll do whatever we can to support his family.
“Rest In Peace Jamin.”
Jay Briscoe was one half of the Briscoe Brothers tag-team duo with his brother and fellow wrestler Mark, becoming 13-time Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions. Last year, both brothers were inducted into the Ring of Honor’s inaugural Hall of Fame class.
