SiriusXM Country @ Cavendish Beach Music Festival

Cavendish

Sarah Burke here, fresh off year three at Cavendish Beach Music Festival in beautiful Prince Edward Island, Canada.  The festival is in its 11th year now and welcomed headliners Eric Church, Carrie Underwood & Hunter Hayes this year.

We got some one-on-one time with some fantastic artists which you’ll hear on the Cavendish Beach Music Festival Recap Show which airs all week:

Tuesday, July 9th – 10 am/10 pm ET
Thursday, July 11th – 12 pm/6 pm ET
Saturday July 13th – 10am / 10pm ET

You can hear the show here.

Brad & Curtis from High Valley tell me about their family trip to Prince Edward Island which they’ve made a tradition over the years when they’re invited to the festival. They also talk about their new song “Single Man,” which has been all over our Most Wanted list this summer.

Shawn Austin told me how excited he is that fans are loving his new single “What Do I Know,” while walking me through what he changes up for a festival set.

If you scroll down, you’ll see that we were almost twins! I almost wore basically the same shirt the next day ha ha!

Mackenzie Porter spoke about her recent #1 single “About You” and how much positive momentum there seems to be for females in country music right now.  She also broke down her new song, “These Days” which brings her back to an earlier time in her relationship! Congrats to Mackenzie on her #1 and her recent engagement!

Russell Dickerson has so much energy that I don’t think he sleeps! He told me about the VHS tour with Thomas Rhett, Dustin Lynch & Rhett Akins and his new song “Every Little Thing.” A little rain didn’t stop him from taking the stage in a rain poncho!

Dan Davidson has been songwriting with a pop singer he compared to “Danish Drake” in Denmark this summer, and he’s producing a documentary on the origins of country music featuring some of our favourite Canadian country artists like Jess Moskaluke. More on that during the show.

Runaway June were absolutely fantastic live! I caught up with them about touring with Carrie Underwood, and their hit song “Buy My Own Drinks,” which is about female empowerment and independence.

Chad Brownlee told me about his new chapter signing with Universal Music Canada, his new EP Back in the Game, and his coy new single with a bit of a double-meaning called “The Way You Roll.”

Frankie Ballard was too much fun! He teased new music recorded in Atlanta, and how it’s different from his previous work recorded in Nashville, Muscle Shoals Alabama, and Texas. He spoke about what’s been inspiring him to write these days, too!

Tim & The Glory Boys played our SiriusXM Emerging Artist Stage and spoke about the moment they found out they were one of our three finalists for our nationwide country music contest Top of the Country.

The Redhill Valleys spoke about their new song ‘Living in Yesterday,’ and their upcoming EP which we’ll hear more about very soon!

Hunter Hayes took me behind the lyrics of his new song “One Good Reason” which is definitely a breakup song where the journey is about moving on after you’ve parted ways with someone. Turns out, he finished writing his latest album in Prince Edward Island and also began a new chapter of writing for his next. He flew into Prince Edward Island a full week early to have some time to write!

Alli Walker moved to Toronto when she was a teenager and just played her first show back home in Prince Edward Island. She recorded the music video for her new song “Raise Your Head!” at her high school which I’ll premiere for you here on SiriusXM.ca this Friday!

The Washboard Union tested out some new material on the crowd (and believe me, it was well-received). They told me they have over 20 songs ready to go for their next album!

Finally, Maddie Storvold gushed about her new song “Don’t Say You Love Me” and working with Scott Borchetta and Bryan Adams on the reality TV show The Launch.

Ryan Langdon broke down his fun new summer jam “Lit in the Sticks.”

Tune in for the show here!
